Women in Profile

State Representative Linda Chapa Lavia

Linda has worked to help promote Women's issues since 2002 after her historic election as the first Democrat elected to the general assembly from Aurora in over a generation. It has been through her personal contact with the residents of the 83rd district that has served to  build a strong foundation for promoting public service in her home District.   Linda has taken the opportunity to help young women along the way- whether it is with advice or her guidance.  Linda has worked to help shape a new generation of leaders that will serve in helping to build a stronger Democracy for our nation. At this years Young Democrats of Illinois Dinner Linda received a lifetime achievement award that recognized her for her efforts in helping to promote public service in Young People. Being a mother, wife, community activist, and a voice for change in our states capital Linda has served to be a strong voice in building a stronger quality of life for the residents of Illinois.

It is our honor to highlight Linda as our woman in profile this quarter. Linda has been invited to be one of the Keynote speakers at this Years Spring Formal.   For more information on our Spring Formal, please check the events page.
