Former Mason County State’s
Attorney Alan D. Tucker is the Democratic candidate for Circuit Judge of
the Eighth Judicial Circuit. The vacancy for Circuit Judge of the
Eighth Judicial Circuit was created by the retirement of the Honorable
Robert L. Welch who has endorsed Tucker as a candidate. The position
is an At-Large Trial Court Judgeship. If elected Tucker would serve
all eight counties of the Eighth Judicial Circuit which are Adams, Brown,
Calhoun, Cass, Mason, Menard, Pike, and Schuyler.

He has appeared in federal courts in Peoria
and Springfield and circuit courts in Fulton, DeWitt, Logan, Mason, Menard,
Cass, Morgan, Peoria, Sangamon, McLean, McDonough and other
central Illinois counties. Alan Tucker has prosecuted over 2,000 felony cases, 5,000 misdemeanor cases and numerous traffic and juvenile cases. Felony cases include first and second degree murder, reckless homicide, and drug and controlled substance offenses. In addition, Tucker has successfully prosecuted a death penalty case. In his 25 years as a private practicing attorney, Alan Tucker has represented more than 1,000 clients and appeared in court on their behalf. Alan has been married to his wife, Karen, for 23 years. They have two children: Jeffrey, 20, a sophomore at Monmouth College, and Jenna, 14, an eighth-grader at Havana Junior High. Alan Tucker participates in many community activities. He has served as the secretary of the Mason County Democratic Party and as a Democratic precinct committeeman. Tucker is a past member of the Illinois Appellate Prosecutor’s Board of Governors and a past president of the Mason County Bar Association. He assisted in establishing the Havana/Mason County Crime Stoppers and the Mason County Child Advocacy Center. Tucker is a past board member of the Fulton/ Mason Crisis Service which advocates for victims of domestic abuse. For the last 20 years he has been a Havana Optimist member. He currently serves on the Mason County Extension Board. |
